Before Your Appointment * Exfoliate your entire body 24 hours before your appointment. Pay extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles, hands, and feet. * Shave or wax at least 48 hours before your tan. * Arrive with clean skin free of lotion, makeup, perfume, deodorant, or oils. * Wear loose, dark clothing and flip-flops or sandals to your appointment. After Your Appointment * Avoid water, sweating, exercise, swimming, or anything that causes moisture until your first rinse. * Your first rinse should be with lukewarm water only—no soap, shampoo, or shaving. * Pat your skin dry with a towel. Your color will continue to develop over the next 24 hours. * Moisturize daily after your first shower to extend the life of your tan. * Avoid exfoliating, long hot baths, chlorine, and harsh soaps to help your tan last longer.
